# Intelligence Model

## Definition

An **intelligence model** is a core entity of the CodeIntelligence runtime layer (Layer 1) — alongside repositories, specs, semantic graphs, code entities, architecture entities, workflows, and execution contexts. Intelligence models power grounded AI execution and architecture-aware inference.

## Key properties

- Core entity type in Layer 1 — CodeIntelligence Runtime

- Consumed by inference-time retrieval and dependency reasoning

- Concrete realization in the extraction engine: the derived, layered, grounded understanding of a codebase (structure → architecture → meaning → capabilities), content-addressed so unchanged code is never re-derived — the derived understanding, not search or seats, is the unit of value
